INTERVIEW WITH ALAN BALL, WRITER OF AMERICAN BEAUTY

As most of my followers know, American Beauty is my all time favorite movies and scripts. I could talk about it for hours. Anyways, I came across an interview with Alan Ball at insidefilm.com and it is a must read. The link is below. Enjoy!

  1. I saw over at IMDB that there's a listing for an untitled Alan Ball project. Any idea what this might be?

  2. Yes and no. I read on a site a couple days ago that he's got a couple of scripts that he wants to do. This article however was written after he made Towelhead I believe. He said that two stood out the most one a dark dark dark comedy set in the 1930's and the other a dark sex comedy. The link is below for you. Let me know what you think.

  3. Thanks for the link. I'd like to see the dark comedy about the woman vigilante, but like he said in the interview, it's a hard sell.

  5. Did you happen to read Carson's breakdown/review of AMERICAN BEAUTY over at ScriptShadow? I believe it was posted last Friday.

  6. Yep and he hit all the points. That truly is one of the greatest scripts in my opinion and one of the funniest. I also felt like he was right when he said Sam Mendes other film, Revolutionary Road (also a good film) wasn't as good because they didn't make any jokes or have any satire in it. It was just really depressing.
